Ein Sturm wie ein Hammer zieht auf, und sein Name ist Stormhammer…
Die deutsche Power-Metal-Band STORMHAMMER zählt seit Jahren zu den festen Größen der europäischen Metal-Szene. Mit einer Mischung aus traditionellem Heavy Metal, melodischem Power Metal und kraftvollen Gitarrenriffs hat sie sich einen unverwechselbaren Sound erarbeitet. Seit ihren frühen Veröffentlichungen stehen Stormhammer für epische Songs, starke Melodien und energiegeladene Metal-Hymnen. Ihre Musik verbindet klassische Heavy-Metal-Tradition mit modernen Einflüssen und atmosphärischem Songwriting.
Mit, „Wrath Of The Hammer“ präsentieren die Münchner, die seit 1993 im Geschäft sind, ihr nun mittlerweile, neuntes Studiowerk, welches sich nahtlos an die Vorgänger anschließt und einen weiteren Meilenstein des Fünfers darstellt.
Dabei erwies sich seiner Zeit der Start der Band, mehr als schwierig. Man startete ursprünglich unter dem Namen „Lizard“. Da es bereits eine deutsche Southern-Rock-Band mit dem gleichen Namen gab, entschied man sich dazu, den Namen in „Steamhammer“ zu ändern. Da auch dieser Bandname schon von einer anderen Gruppe besetzt wurde, benannte sie sich schließlich in „StormHammer“ um, und der weg zum Erfolg war endlich frei. Auch wenn selbiger unzählige Umbesetzungen die zu guter Letzt dazu führten, das einzig Bassist, Host, von der Urbesetzung verblieben ist, gab man nie auf.
Nun also mehr als drei Jahrzehnte später ist man nach wie vor in der Szene beheimatet und folgt dem eingeschlagenen Weg unaufhaltsam.
Nach wie vor präsentiert man klassischen Hardrock und Heavy Metal, was sich auch mit dem neusten Werk und seinen zehn neuen Nummern nicht ändert. Eingängige Riffs, Rhythmen und Gesang sorgen dafür das auch dieses Album mit ziemlicher Sicherheit ein Erfolg in der Szene und unter den Fans werden wird. Auch nach so vielen Jahren im Geschäft, gelingt es Stormhammer den Hörer zu fesseln und für sich selbst noch einen obendrauf zu setzen. Dies gelingt besonders eindrucksvoll mit den beiden neuen Männern an den Sechsseitern.
Das Album selbst ist wie bereits erwähnt im klassischen Metal angesiedelt und bring Stimmung und gute Laune in die Bude, wobei das Material verdammt noch mal richtig Rockt.
So darf es gern noch weitere Jahre laufen.

The German power metal band STORMHAMMER has long been a fixture of the European metal scene. They have forged a distinctive sound through a blend of traditional heavy metal, melodic power metal, and powerful guitar riffs. Since their early releases, Stormhammer has stood for epic songs, strong melodies, and high-energy metal anthems. Their music fuses classic heavy metal traditions with modern influences and atmospheric songwriting.
With *Wrath Of The Hammer*, the Munich-based band—active since 1993—presents its ninth studio album; it follows seamlessly in the footsteps of its predecessors and marks another milestone for the quintet.
Yet, the band’s beginnings were anything but easy. They originally started out under the name "Lizard." Since a German Southern rock band was already using that name, they decided to switch to "Steamhammer." When that name also turned out to be taken by another group, they finally renamed themselves "StormHammer," and the path to success was finally clear. Even though there were countless lineup changes—which ultimately resulted in bassist Host being the only remaining member of the original lineup—they never gave up.
Now, more than three decades later, they remain firmly established in the scene, unstoppable on the path they chose so long ago.
They continue to deliver classic hard rock and heavy metal—a tradition upheld by this latest release and its ten new tracks. Catchy riffs, rhythms, and vocals ensure that this album is almost certain to be a hit with both the scene and the fans. Even after so many years in the business, Stormhammer manages to captivate the listener and raise the bar yet again. This is achieved particularly impressively with the two new men at the Guitars.
As mentioned, the album is rooted in classic metal; it brings a great vibe and high spirits, with material that—damn it—truly rocks.
