Der Eisbrecher befindet sich wieder auf Kurs. Kaltfront°! Black Edition, heißt das „neue“ Studio/Live-Album. Schon klar, jetzt wird ein jeder sofort aufschreien, „Hey, Kaltfront°! Ist/war doch das aktuelle Album im vergangenen Jahr 2025. Richtig. Die Black Edition ist ein Upgrade des Erfolgsalbum der Band um Frontmann Alex Wesselsky, der mit diesem Album einen teilweisen Neustart in der Geschichte der Band startete. Nun könnte der eine oder andere annehmen es ginge wohl nicht recht weiter im Hause und man legt einfach das Album neu auf, um damit noch einmal Kohle zu machen. Nun Freunde des guten Geschmacks, da liegt ihr gewaltig falsch. Wer Herrn Wesselsky kennt, der weiß das der gute Mann eher aufgibt, bevor er die Abzockmaschiene anschmeißt. So kommt das „neue“ Album im völlig überholten Design mit neuem Cover, Remasterten Song-Version, einer neuen Single, einer Pianoversion, die es bisher nur außerhalb des Originals gab, plus insgesamt, elf Live-Versionen der Kaltfront°! Songs, die auf der gleichnamigen Tour durch Europe aufgezeichnet wurden. Somit legen Eisbrecher mit der Black Edition ein teilweise Best of… Album ihres aktuellen Studiowerkes aufgepumpt auf insgesamt achtundzwanzig Songs und einer Spielzeit von einer Stunde sechsundvierzig Minuten. Wir finden das ist schon ein kleines Monster, welches die eh schon harten songs noch einmal so Hart klingen lässt und durch die Live-Versionen einen guten eindruck eines Eisbrecher-Konzertes vermittelt. Die neue Single, „Tot oder Lebenslänglich“ und die Piano Version von, „Festung der Einsamkeit“ polieren das Ding dann noch ein Bisschen mehr auf und machen Bock auf die anstehenden Konzertauftritte in 2026.
Gut gemacht meine Herren. Wir freuen uns auf die Live-Aktivitäten und können ein weiteres Album nun nicht mehr erwarten!

The Eisbrecher is back on track. Kaltfront°! Black Edition is the title of the “new” studio/live album. Of course, everyone will immediately exclaim, “Hey, Kaltfront°! Wasn’t that the current album from last year, 2025?” Correct. The Black Edition is an upgrade of the hit album by the band led by frontman Alex Wesselsky, who used this album to kick off a partial reboot in the band’s history. Now, some might assume things aren’t going so well at the label and they’re just re-releasing the album to make some more money. Well, friends of good taste, you’re way off the mark. Anyone who knows Mr. Wesselsky knows that the good man would rather give up than start a money-grabbing scheme. So the “new” album comes in a completely revamped design with a new cover, remastered song versions, a new single, a piano version that previously only existed outside the original, plus a total of eleven live versions of Kaltfront°! songs recorded on the tour of the same name across Europe. Thus, with the Black Edition, Eisbrecher present a sort of “Best Of…” album of their current studio work, expanded to a total of twenty-eight songs and a running time of one hour and forty-six minutes. We think this is quite a monster of an album, which makes the already hard-hitting songs sound even harder and, through the live versions, conveys a good impression of an Eisbrecher concert. The new single, “Tot oder Lebenslänglich,” and the piano version of “Festung der Einsamkeit” polish the whole thing up a bit more and get us excited for the upcoming concert appearances in 2026.
Well done, gentlemen. We’re looking forward to the live shows and can’t wait for the next album!
