Es gibt sie noch, und sie sind wieder da… Crimson Glory.
Dasneue Album von Crimson Glory ist das erste Album seit nunmehr 26 Jahren. Crimson Glory, eine amerikanische Heavy-Metal-Institution, die 1983 in Sarasota, Florida, USA, gegründet wurde. Die klassische Besetzung bestand aus Sänger Midnight, den Gitarristen Jon Drenning und Ben Jackson, Bassist Jeff Lords und Schlagzeuger Dana Burnell. Mit dieser Besetzung erlangten sie Mitte der 1980er Jahre internationalen Ruhm und galten neben Bands wie Queensrÿche, Dream Theater, Fates Warning und Watchtower als eine der Pionierbands der amerikanischen Progressive-Metal-Bewegung. Mit 3/5 der klassischen Besetzung, die noch immer intakt ist, und dem neu hinzugekommenen, gefeierten Sänger Travis Wills tourte die Band im letzten Jahr intensiv ... was dieses Album zu einer der am meisten erwarteten Veröffentlichungen des Jahres 2026 in der Heavy-Metal-Szene macht!
Nun steht es in den Verkaufsregalen und beweist, das man auch nach einer weit mehr als ein Vierteljahrhundert andauernden Funkstille mit den alten Helden rechnen kann und darf. Crison Glory haben nichts verlehrnt und präsentieren sich in bester Spiellaune. Neun Tracks beinhaltet das neue Studiowerk und setzt im Großen und Ganzen genau dort an, wo man seiner Zeit zum stillstand überging. Klassischer Progressive Metal, mit ausgeklügelten Riffs und Solis. Getragen durch einen talentierten neuen Mann am Mikrofon. Trevis Wills gibt, genau wie der Rest der Band sein Bestes, was das nun vorliegende Werk zu einem kleinen weiteren Meilenstein einer Band macht, die längst als vergessen galt und nun erneut beweist das Totgesagte länger Leben, als man denkt. Die szene wird es den alten Helden Danken, denn sie bekommt ein aussagekräftiges Werk in ihre Reihen dazu. Da darf man nur hoffen das Chashing the Hydra keine Eintagsfliege bildet und es mehr in dieser Richtung geben wird.

They’re still around, and they’re back… Crimson Glory.
Crimson Glory’s new album is their first in 26 years. Crimson Glory, an American heavy metal institution, was founded in 1983 in Sarasota, Florida, USA. The classic lineup consisted of singer Midnight, guitarists Jon Drenning and Ben Jackson, bassist Jeff Lords, and drummer Dana Burnell. With this lineup, they achieved international fame in the mid-1980s and were considered, alongside bands like Queensrÿche, Dream Theater, Fates Warning, and Watchtower, one of the pioneering bands of the American progressive metal movement. With 3/5 of the classic lineup still intact and the newly added, acclaimed singer Travis Wills, the band toured extensively last year... making this album one of the most anticipated releases of 2026 in the heavy metal scene!
Now it’s on store shelves, proving that even after more than a quarter-century of silence, you can still count on these old heroes. Crimson Glory haven’t lost their touch and are in top form. The new studio album features nine tracks and, for the most part, picks up exactly where they left off. Classic progressive metal, with intricate riffs and solos. Carried by a talented new man on the microphone. Trevis Wills, just like the rest of the band, gives his all, making this latest release yet another small milestone for a band that was long considered forgotten and now proves once again that what’s been written off lives longer than you’d think. The scene will thank these old heroes, as it gains a significant addition to its ranks. One can only hope that Chasing the Hydra isn’t a one-hit wonder and that there will be more to come in this vein.
