ANGUS MCSIX – Angus McSix and the All-Seeing Astral Eye

Frisch gestärkt und voller Willenskraft starten Angus McSix und seine Streiter, nach dem erfolgreichen Debüt und einer abenteuerlichen Reise durch die Story, Angus McSix and the Sword of Power, in der es bekanntlich mit unglücklichem Ende für den Helden, Angus McSix, gegen seinen Erzfeind, Archdemon Seebulon (Sebastian „Seeb“ Levermann, Orden Ogan), in die Schlacht ging, mit dem heute erscheinenden zweiten Teil der Saga weiter. In, Angus McSix and the All-Seeing Astral Eye, rotten sich der Bruder des Helden, Adam McSix (Sam Nyman, Manimal) als Hauptfigur und Leadsänger und neu an Bord, Gitarristin The Dwarf (Jasmin Pabst) an der Seite der Gitarren-Amazone Thalestris (Thalia Bellazecca, Primal Fear) zusammen um Angus aus seinem eisigen Gefängnis zu befreien.
Auf dieser absurden Reise setzt die Power-Metal-Supergroup auf die Kraft des Metal und ein Augenzwinkern als ungeahnt mächtige Waffen! Der Sound ist perfekt arrangiert und die Story fantastisch und einfach gestrickt. Auch das zweite Werk der Formation sollte nicht allzu ernst genommen werden. Auch wenn es schon ein wenig bombastisch daherkommt und mit tatkräftiger Unterstützung der Kollegen von Rhapsody on Fire, Van Canto, Turmion Kätilöt und Freedom Call ein echtes Machwerk darstellt,kommt man nicht umher die Ironie, die im gesamten Werk steckt zu erkennen. Angus McSix ist halt Powermetal auf ganz hohem Unterhaltungswert. Sowohl musikalisch als auch textlich und optisch, wovon man sich auf der Tour gern überzeugen darf.
Die insgesamt elf neuen Songs bilden eine perfekte Fortsetzung des ersten Werkes und vereinen neben klassischem Powermetal auch elektronische Klänge, die hier und da sogar dem Pop frönen. Wie bereits gesagt, man sollte Angus, Adam und Co. Nicht so ernst nehmen, was nicht heißen soll das hinter diesem Projekt wahre Künstler ihres Handwerks stecken. Das Gegenteil ist hier der Fall. Powermetal muss nicht immer nur Krachen, er darf auch schon mal so richtig Spaß machen, und hierfür sind Angus McSix ein hundertprozentiger Garant.
Auch hier vergeben wir die volle Punktzahl und Kaufempfehlung und freuen uns auf die Tour, die im Übrigen noch Bloodbound und Brainstorm mit sich führt.

Refreshed and brimming with willpower, Angus McSix and his bandmates continue their saga with the second installment, released today, following their successful debut and adventurous journey through the story of Angus McSix and the Sword of Power, which, as we know, ended tragically for the hero, Angus McSix, in battle against his archenemy, Archdemon Seebulon (Sebastian "Seeb" Levermann, Orden Ogan). In Angus McSix and the All-Seeing Astral Eye, the hero's brother, Adam McSix (Sam Nyman, Manimal), as the main character and lead singer, and newcomer guitarist The Dwarf (Jasmin Pabst), join forces with guitar virtuoso Thalestris (Thalia Bellazecca, Primal Fear) to free Angus from his icy prison.
On this absurd journey, the power metal supergroup relies on the power of metal and a wink as unexpectedly potent weapons! The sound is perfectly arranged, and the story is fantastic and straightforward. The band's second album shouldn't be taken too seriously either. Even though it comes across as somewhat bombastic and, with the energetic support of their colleagues from Rhapsody on Fire, Van Canto, Turmion Kätilöt, and Freedom Call, represents a true masterpiece, one can't help but recognize the irony inherent in the entire work. Angus McSix is simply power metal at its most entertaining. This applies to the music, lyrics, and visuals, as you can see for yourself on the tour.
The eleven new songs form a perfect continuation of their first album and combine classic power metal with electronic sounds that even occasionally flirt with pop. As already mentioned, Angus, Adam, and company shouldn't be taken too seriously, which isn't to say that true artists aren't behind this project. Quite the opposite. Power metal doesn't always have to be about noise; it can also be a lot of fun, and Angus McSix are a 100% guarantee of that.
Here too, we award full marks and a purchase recommendation and look forward to the tour, which also includes Bloodbound and Brainstorm.
