DYMYTRY PARADOX – Born from Chaos

Ich muss gestehen, dass ich etwas zwiegespalten bin, wenn ich mir das neue Album von Dymytry Paradox, wie nun die in englischer Sprache singende Version der Band Dymytry aus Prag heißt, anhöre. Ja, Dymytry Paradox bleiben ihrem Stil treu und servieren nach wie vor eins A Nu Metal der seinem Weg folgt. Dennoch muss ich gestehen, dass mir beim gerade erschienenen Album, Born from Chaos irgendetwas fehlt. Ich kann es nicht so recht greifen. Ist es der doch schon etwas nach Mainstream schielende Sound? Ist es der urtypische Sound der Nu Metal Szene? (Der aber hier verdammt noch mal nicht im Geringsten angestaubt, sondern frisch klingt) Oder ist es die einfache Tatsache, dass es keinen Song gibt, der sich irgendwie länger im Hörgang festklammert. Vielleicht wenn man das Album einige Male gehört hat, aber zurzeit finde ich kein echtes Highlight auf der Scheibe. Auf der anderen Seite muss ich aber wiederum gestehen, das Dymytry Paradox ihr Handwerk mehr als verstehen und auch mit, Born from Chaos ein brachiales Album abliefern, welches unter Fans und Liebhabern der Band und der Szene sicherlich seinen angestammten Platz einnehmen wird. Der Sound ist Fett. Die Riffs sind Hart und treffen ihr Ziel. Der Gesang ist einschneidend und präzise gesetzt. Man kann also hier beruhigt von einem guten Album sprechen, welches seine Höhepunkte hat, aber eben keinen wirklich bleibenden Eindruck hinterlässt. Für den Augenblick ist es aber auf alle Fälle unterhaltsam und ein Ohr wert. Schaue wir, wohin die Reise geht. Es folgt die Tour. Und wer weiß wie ich das neue Werk sehe, wenn ich erst einmal wieder die Livepower und Energie der Band und ihrer Mitglieder gespürt und erlebt habe.

I must admit that I am somewhat torn when listening to the new album by Dymytry Paradox, as the English-language version of the Prague band Dymytry is now called. Yes, Dymytry Paradox remain true to their style and continue to serve up top-notch nu metal that follows its own path. Nevertheless, I must admit that something is missing for me on their recently released album, Born from Chaos. I can't quite put my finger on it. Is it the sound, which is already leaning somewhat toward the mainstream? Is it the archetypal sound of the nu metal scene? (Which, however, doesn't sound the slightest bit dusty here, but rather fresh.) Or is it the simple fact that there isn't a single song that somehow sticks in your ear for longer? Maybe after listening to the album a few times, but at the moment I can't find any real highlights on the disc. On the other hand, I have to admit that Dymytry Paradox more than know their craft and, with Born from Chaos, deliver a brutal album that will certainly take its rightful place among fans and lovers of the band and the scene. The sound is fat. The riffs are hard and hit their mark. The vocals are incisive and precisely placed. So we can safely say that this is a good album that has its highlights but doesn't really leave a lasting impression. For the moment, however, it is definitely entertaining and worth a listen. Let's see where the journey takes us. The tour is coming up. And who knows how I will view the new work once I have felt and experienced the live power and energy of the band and its members again.
