Vor ganz genau einem viertel Jahrhundert, erschien das Debüt, Further, einer Band, die den Namen, „Solace“, trug und trägt. Dieses Album ebnete den Weg für eine bis heute anhaltende Karriere, die zwar über die Jahre bisher nur zu vier, dafür aber äußerst erfolgreichen Alben, sowie einer größeren personellen Umbesetzung sorgte. Nun genau fünfundzwanzig Jahre nach erscheinen des Debüts erscheint dieser Klassiker des Dirt Metals, wie die Band selbst ihren aus einer Mischung von Doom und Heavy Metal bestehenden Sound nennt, in einer remasteren Version, frisch aufpoliert, erneut. Sollte das neu erweckte Stück Zeitgeschichte ursprünglich als Jubiläumsausgabe dienen, so erfüllt es nun im Jahr 2025 gleich auch noch den Zweck eines Tributes, an den Mann, der den Sound und die Musik von Solace maßgeblich prägte. Die Rede ist von Sänger Jason L. der im Januar 2025 verstarb.
Nun liegt das wiedererweckte Werk also in den Verkaufsregalen und darf gern erworben werden. Es handelt sich hierbei tatsächlich um einen Klassiker des Doom, Heavy Metal, Hardcore Genres, den Fans der Szene mit Sicherheit lieben werden, wenn er sich nicht längst in ihrem Besitz befindet.

Exactly a quarter of a century ago, the debut album Further was released by a band that was and still is called Solace. This album paved the way for a career that continues to this day, resulting in only four albums over the years, but extremely successful ones at that, as well as a major lineup change. Now, exactly twenty-five years after the release of their debut, this classic of dirt metal, as the band itself calls its sound, which is a mixture of doom and heavy metal, is being re-released in a remastered version, freshly polished. While the newly revived piece of contemporary history was originally intended as an anniversary edition, in 2025 it also serves as a tribute to the man who significantly shaped the sound and music of Solace. We are talking about singer Jason L., who passed away in January 2025.
Now the revived work is on the shelves and available for purchase. It is indeed a classic of the doom, heavy metal, and hardcore genres that fans of the scene are sure to love, if they don't already own it.
