Bruck an der Mur (Österreich) ist die Herkunft‘s und Gründungsstätte einer der wohl mittlerweile erfolgsversprechenden Symphonic Metal Bands Europas. Die Rede ist von Visions of Atlantis, die seit ihrer Gründung im Jahr 2000 immer mehr Freunde und Fans des Genres in ihren Bann zieht.
Seit ihren Gründungstagen zeichnen sich VISIONS OF ATLANTIS durch ihre einzigartigen Dual-Vocals aus – ein kraftvoller Gesangsdialog zwischen einer weiblichen und einer männlichen Stimme.
Mit ihren Geschichten über Piraten und deren abenteuerlichen Reisen über die Weiten der sieben Meere verzaubert der Fünfer seither ihre Fans, weit über die Grenzen ihrer Heimat hinaus.
Mit mittlerweile neun Studioalben, drei Live Alben, von denen zumindest eines auch auf DVD erhältlich ist und einem Acoustic Werk, können Visions of Atlantis schon jetzt auf einen beachtlichen Backkatalog zurückgreifen.
Spätestens mit dem Erscheinen der Pirates-Saga die im Jahr 2022 mit Pirates ihren Anfang nahm und sich durch das gefeierte, Pirates II – Armada, 2024 fortsetzte, setzte sich die Band an die Spitze des Symphonic Metals. Live Auftritte, unter anderem auf dem Wacken Open Air, festigten diese Stellung noch einmal und zeigte das die Band besonders Live noch so viel mehr zu bieten hat.
Um dieses Gefühl und die fantastische Musiklandschaft der Band einzufangen schuf man nun ein weiteres Live Album, welches bei den unterschiedlichsten Gelegenheiten der Armada Europa Tour aufgezeichnet wurde.
Der Name des Albums, Armada Live over Europe, enthält neunzehn ausgesuchte Stücke der Band und gibt einen wahrlich gigantischen Eindruck dessen wieder, was einen Gast auf einem Konzert von Visions of Atlantis erwartet.
Wer mich kennt, weiß das ich besonders Livealbum und gar Best of Veröffentlichungen eher skeptisch gegenüber stehe. Bei diesem Album muss ich aber gestehen, kann man nichts verkehrt machen.
Beste Songauswahl. Gute Aufzeichnung. Und das Geschick die Atmosphäre eines Live Auftrittes einzufangen sind hier durchweg gegeben.

Bruck an der Mur (Austria) is the birthplace and founding location of one of Europe's most promising symphonic metal bands. We are talking about Visions of Atlantis, which has been captivating more and more fans of the genre since its formation in 2000.
Since their early days, VISIONS OF ATLANTIS have been known for their unique dual vocals—a powerful vocal dialogue between a female and a male voice.
With their stories about pirates and their adventurous journeys across the seven seas, the five-piece band has been enchanting their fans far beyond the borders of their homeland.
With nine studio albums, three live albums, at least one of which is also available on DVD, and an acoustic work, Visions of Atlantis already has a considerable back catalog to draw on.
With the release of the Pirates saga, which began in 2022 with Pirates and continued with the acclaimed Pirates II – Armada in 2024, the band established itself at the forefront of symphonic metal. Live performances, including at Wacken Open Air, further cemented this position and showed that the band has so much more to offer, especially live.
To capture this feeling and the band's fantastic musical landscape, another live album was created, recorded on various occasions during the Armada Europe Tour.
The album, Armada Live over Europe, contains nineteen selected tracks by the band and gives a truly gigantic impression of what awaits a guest at a Visions of Atlantis concert.
Anyone who knows me knows that I am rather skeptical about live albums and even best-of releases. But with this album, I have to admit, you can't go wrong.
Great song selection. Good recording. And the skill to capture the atmosphere of a live performance is evident throughout.
