Nach einer ausgedehnten Tour, durch Europa, Kanada und die USA, waren die aus Australien stammenden Hard Rocker, Elm Street, der Meinung es seit Zeit für ihr drittes Studiowerk. Gegründet wurde die Formation im Jahr 2003. Allerdings erschien das gefeierte Debüt, Barbed Wire Metal, erst 2011. Es dauerte weitere fünf Jahre bis man das Folgewerk, Knock‘ Em out…with a Metal Fist, 2016 an den Start brachte. Bis hier hin wurden die Songs, der Rhythmus und die Energie, die von Fans weltweit als klassischer Hard Rock/Heavy Metal eingeordnet wird, allerorts gelobt aufgenommen und gefeiert. Dennoch dauerte es erneut sieben lange Jahre. Doch nun steht das neue Album, The Great Tribulation, endlich in den Verkaufsregalen und bei vielen Streamingdiensten im Angebot. Musikalisch hat man gottlob nichts verändert. Man hat zwar kräftig am Härtegrad geschraubt, sowie die Produktion verfeinert, aber der werte Fan und Hörer darf beruhigt sein. Elm Street sind und bleiben sich treu und servieren feinsten Hard Rock / Heavy Metal. Zwar darf man durchaus den elfminütigen Opener, Seven Sirens sowie das Schlusslicht des Albums, A State of Fear, als klassisch hervorheben, doch im einzelnen hat jeder der insgesamt sieben Songs das Prädikat als Einzelsingle stehen zu können verdient. Wir können dieses feine Stück metallischer Handarbeit nur wärmstens empfehlen und vergeben höchste Punktwertung.
After an extensive tour, through Europe, Canada and the USA, the Hard Rocker, Elm Street from Australia, were of the opinion for their third studio work. The formation was founded in 2003. However, the celebrated debut, barbed wire metal, only appeared in 2011. It took another five years for the follow -up work, Knock ’em Out… with a metal fist, to start in 2016. Up to here, the songs, the rhythm and the energy, which fans are classified worldwide as a classic hard rock/heavy metal, were recorded and celebrated everywhere. Nevertheless, it took seven long years again. But now the new album, The Great Tribulation, is finally on offer on the sales shelves and many streaming services. Musically, nothing has been changed. Although the degree of hardness has been screwed, and the production has been refined, but the values fan and listener can be reassured. Elm Street are and remain true to themselves and serve the finest hard rock / heavy metal. Although the eleven -minute opener, Seven Sirens and the bottom of the album, A State of Fear, can certainly be highlighted as classic, but in detail each of the seven songs deserves the predicate as a single flock. We can highly recommend this fine piece of metallic handcraft and forgive the highest point ranking.
