Das ewige Gleichgewicht ist nicht so leicht zu finden, aber es gibt Wegweiser. Man nehme zwei Kreuze, eines steht für das Gute, das andere für das Böse. Richtig aufgereiht stehen sie auch für F und G - die Initialen der Alternative Dark Rock Band Florian Grey! Seit 2015 verschmilzt die Hamburger Band harte Musik wie Rock und Gothic mit poppig-melancholischem Tiefgang und ist dabei so eingängig, dass schon das einmalige Anhören eines Tracks ausreicht, um die Melodie noch tagelang mitzusummen. Durch die Symbiose verschiedener Musikstile erhebt sich die in Deutschland ansässige Alternative Dark Rock Band um Gründer und Namensgeber Florian Grey über Genregrenzen. Das Trio versteht es, spielerisch Grenzen einzureißen und Stile zu verweben, so dass der Hörer auf eine emotionale Achterbahnfahrt durch eine Welt zwischen Licht und Schatten mitgenommen wird. Mit Einflüssen aus Dark Rock, Metal und Pop treffen Gitarrenwände und Synthesizer-Weiten auf treibende Drumbeats und den unverwechselbaren und beschwörend schönen Bariton-Gesang von Sänger Florian Grey. All dies verschmilzt zu beeindruckenden, scheinbar nicht enden wollenden Klanglandschaften, voller epischer Melodien und eingängiger Texte. Was mit dem Debütalbum Gone als Soloprojekt begann, wurde mit dem Nachfolger Ritus und der Arbeit der drei Vollblutmusiker zu einer festen Formation. Gemeinsam kreieren sie ihren eigenen Stil, der durch den Facettenreichtum der Bandmitglieder, die ursprünglich in unterschiedlichen Genres zu Hause waren, leicht zu einer Einheit verschmilzt.

2023 ist das Jahr in dem sich die drei Herren nun daran machen ihren Gefühlen erneut Luft zu machen. Destroying Kingdoms, so der Titel des dritten Studioalbums der Hamburger. Wie wohl beinah jeder von uns haben auch Florian Grey erkannt, dass das Leben nicht nur Schwarz und Weiß ist, sondern sehr Facettenreich und Unberechenbar. So liefert die Band nach eigener Aussage nun den Soundtrack zu genau diesem Leben in Schwarz/Weiß, Grau oder auch mal Farbenfroh. Es entstand ein Album wie eine menschliche Achterbahnfahrt, mit Tempo, immer geradeaus, aber doch mit vielen Auf und Ab. Dies zeigt sich musikalisch in kraftvollen elf Songs, die aber auch zu jedem Moment mit so viel Gefühl gepaart sind. Ja, Florian Grey rockt, aber eben mit viel Gefühl. Hier kommt Dark-Rock wie er besser kaum sein kann. Instrumental fantastisch eingespielt und Produziert, gepaart mit einem unverwechselbaren Gesang eines verdammt einfühlsamen Florian Grey. Wer die Formation bisher noch nicht kennt, sollte spätestens mit dem gerade erschienenen Album den Schritt zum Entdecken wagen. Destroying Kingdoms entführt den Hörer nicht in irgendwelche Welten außerhalb unseres Seins, sondern nimmt uns mit durch die Gefühlswelt mit allen Höhen und Tiefen, die wohl beinah einem jedem von uns im Laufe des Lebens wiederfahren/…werden. Absolut zu empfehlen und von uns mit höchster Punktzahl ausgezeichnet.

They also really lined up for F and G - the initials of the alternative Dark Rock Band Florian Gray! Since 2015, the Hamburg band has merged hard music such as rock and gothic with a trendy melancholy depth and is so catchy that even listening to a track is sufficient to assume the melody for days. Due to the symbiosis of different styles of music, the alternative Dark Rock Band, based in Germany, rises above genre boundaries. The trio knows how to playfully tear down borders and blame styles, so that the listener is taken on an emotional roller coaster ride through a world between light and shadow. With influences from Dark Rock, Metal and Pop, guitar walls and synthesizer widths meet driving beats and the unmistakable and conjured baritone singing by singer Florian Gray. All of this merges into impressive, apparently never -ending sound landscapes, full of epic melodies and catchy texts. What started as a solo project with the debut album Gone became a solid formation with the successor Ritus and the work of the three thoroughbred musicians. Together they create their own style, which slightly merges into one unit due to the diversity of the band members, who were originally in different genres at home.

Like almost each of us, Florian Gray recognized that life is not only black and white, but also very multifaceted and unpredictable. According to its own statement, the band now delivers the soundtrack to exactly this life in black and white, gray or sometimes colorful. An album was created like a human roller coaster ride, at speed, always straight ahead, but with many up and down. This is musically in powerful eleven songs, but they are also paired with so much feeling at any moment. Yes, Florian Gray rocks, but with a lot of feeling. Here comes Dark rock as it can hardly be better. Instrumental fantastically teamed up and produces, paired with a unmistakable vocals of a damn sensitive Florian Gray. If you have not yet known the formation, you should take the step to discover with the album just published. Destroying Kingdoms does not take the listener into any worlds outside of our being, but takes us through the emotional world with all the ups and downs, which is almost one of us in the course of life/... Absolutely recommended and awarded by us with the highest score.
