1999 und dann ein Jahr später, 2000, erschufen Mob Rules, die norddeutschen Powermetaler, mit Savage Land und Temple of the Sun, nicht nur ihre eigene postapocalyptische Welt mit dazugehöriger Gesichte, sondern starteten auch gleich ihre Bandkarriere. Zwar wurde Mob Rules bereits 1994 gegründet und veröffentlichten auch prompt in Eigenregie ihre erste EP Savage Land Part I, aber erst das Debüt, „Savage Land“ aus dem Jahr 1999 startete endgültig die Reise dieser fantastischen Powermetal Formation, die seither nun neun Studioalben produzierten und ihren Platz in der Riege der Powermetalbands festigte.
2025 setzen sie nun ihre Geschichte die mit Temple of the Sun 2000 bereits zu Ende erzählt schien, mit dem zehnten Album, „Rise oft he Ruler“ fort. In einer dystopischen, feindseligen Endzeitwelt, in der die Ressourcen knapp werden geht die Reise nun also weiter. Bereits die erste Singleauskopplung, „Back tot he Savage Land“, eine mitreißende Powermetal Hymne, ließ erkennen wo die Reise des neuen Albums hin führen wird. Nun ist das Album also erhältlich und überrascht den werten Hörer mit elf hammerharten neuen Nummer, die vor Kraft nur so strotzen. Riff jagt Riff. Treibende Drums fordern wilde Bass Lines heraus und bilden zusammen einen eindringlichen Rhythmus, der alles mit sich zu reißen scheint was er erfasst. Schön zu hören das es auch nach Jahren der Existenz noch möglich ist Geschichten so stilvoll fortzusetzen. Freunde des klassischen Powermetals werden das Album lieben. Hier passt alles zusammen, ob nun instrumental, gesanglich oder in der Storyline. So muss ein Metalalbum klingen. Bitte weiter so.

In 1999 and then a year later, in 2000, Mob Rules, the North German power metal band, not only created their own post-apocalyptic world with accompanying stories in Savage Land and Temple of the Sun, but also launched their band career. Although Mob Rules was founded in 1994 and promptly released their first EP, Savage Land Part I, on their own, it was their debut album, Savage Land, released in 1999, that finally launched the journey of this fantastic power metal formation, which has since produced nine studio albums and cemented its place among the ranks of power metal bands.
In 2025, they are continuing their story, which seemed to have come to an end with Temple of the Sun 2000, with their tenth album, Rise of the Ruler. The journey now continues in a dystopian, hostile apocalyptic world where resources are running out. The first single release, “Back to the Savage Land,” a rousing power metal anthem, already hinted at where the journey of the new album would lead. Now the album is available and surprises the listener with eleven hard-hitting new tracks that are bursting with power. Riff after riff. Driving drums challenge wild bass lines and together form a haunting rhythm that seems to sweep away everything it touches. It's nice to hear that even after years of existence, it's still possible to continue stories in such a stylish way. Fans of classic power metal will love this album. Everything fits together here, whether instrumental, vocal, or in the storyline. This is how a metal album should sound. Keep up the good work.
