Erinnert sich hier noch irgendwer an die britische Formation, Balance of Power? Selbige wurde im Jahr 1995 gegründet und veröffentlichte bis in das Jahr 2003 ganz fünf Studioalben. 2005 erschien dann noch eine Best of. Die Band wurde offiziell nie aufgelöst, doch gab es bereits zu aktiven Zeiten verschiedene Lineup-Wechsel, die sich bis heute gehalten haben. Einzig Tony Richie, der Anfänglich noch den Gesang mit übernahm, und Schlagwerker Lionel Hicks sind von der Urbesetzung noch dabei. Heute nun, über zwanzig Jahre nach der letzten Veröffentlichung erscheint nun das sechste Studioalbum, welches vor, während und nach der weltweiten Pandemie entstand. Herausgekommen ist ein Metal Album, mit acht neuen Songs, welches Thematisch neue Wege für, Balance of Power geht. "Fresh From The Abyss" ist eine Kollektion von Songs, die entweder die Uhr anhält und auf einen bestimmten Moment in der Zeit verweist oder zurückblickt und die Unendlichkeit von Zeit und Raum, des Lebens und des Sterbens thematisiert. Sonst, hat sich nichts geändert. Balance of Power frönen weiterhin dem progressive Metal, und dies tun sie in einem sehr angenehmen Style, der sich auch über die Jahre immer weiterentwickelte. Does anyone here remember the British band Balance of Power? They were founded in 1995 and released five studio albums up until 2003. A best of was then released in 2005. The band was never officially disbanded, but there were various line-up changes during their active days, which have continued to this day. Only Tony Richie, who initially took over the vocals, and drummer Lionel Hicks are still part of the original line-up. Today, more than twenty years after the last release, the sixth studio album, which was created before, during and after the global pandemic, is now being released. The result is a metal album with eight new songs, which thematically breaks new ground for Balance of Power. "Fresh From The Abyss" is a collection of songs that either stops the clock and refers to a specific moment in time or looks back and addresses the infinity of time and space, of life and death. Otherwise, nothing has changed. Balance of Power continue to indulge in progressive metal, and they do so in a very pleasant style that has continued to evolve over the years. We therefore recommend buying the new album. We wish you the best of entertainment.
