Als im Jahr 2017 die schwedische Doom Metal Band, The Order of Israfel, eine Schaffenspause einlegte waren einige Mitglieder der Formation der Meinung diese Pause nutzen zu müssen um ein etwas anderes Projekt auf die Beine zu stellen. Hieraus entstand die Band, Dun Ringill. Nach der durchaus gelobten und gut bewerteten Veröffentlichung zweier Alben, Welcome und Library of Death, folgte die für alle pandemiebedingte Zwangspause. Diese war aber im Fall von Dun Ringill wohl eher Segen als Fluch. Denn hätte man die durch die Zwangspause entstehende „Freizeit“ nicht erhalten, wer weiß ob es je zu dem nun in Arbeit stehendem, zweiteiligen, Projekt gekommen wäre. Man nutzte die Zweit um ein „Drehbuch“ zu verfassen, welches nun als Doppel-Konzept Album in den Jahren 2023/24 erscheinen wird. Den Anfang macht Teil eins von, 150-Where the Old Gods Play. Die sechs Schweden legten bei der musikalischen Produktion noch eine mächtige Schippe Folk und Doom Metal oben drauf, was das Album umso großartiger und aufwendiger gestallte. Nun erhält der gewillte Hörer also den ersten Teil der Geschichte, die Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts in Schottland spielt, und sich um die Manipulation der Kirche durch einen Priester, dessen geheime Absichten sich erst am Ende offenbaren, dreht. Verpackt in sieben stimmungsvolle Songs, die mit passender Musik in ein echtes Abenteuer einlädt und den Hörer sowohl in ihren Bann zieht, als auch für angenehmsten Hörgenuss sorgt. Man darf schon jetzt auf Teil zwei gespannt sein, der dann das Ende offenbaren wird. Ganz sicher ist dieses Album nicht nur für Fans der Doom Szene. Auch Anhänger des Folk Metals sind hier herzlichst eingeladen mal ein Ohr zu riskieren. Wir sind überzeugt, das sich hier viele neue und alte Fans mehr als angesprochen fühlen werden und vergeben einmal volle Punktzahl für ein Album einer eigenständigen Szene.
When the Swedish doom metal band, The Order of Israfel, took a creative break in 2017, some members of the formation felt they had to use this break to set up a slightly different project. Hence the band, Dun Ringill. After the highly praised and well-rated release of two albums, Welcome and Library of Death, everyone was forced to take a break due to the pandemic. In the case of Dun Ringill, however, this was more of a blessing than a curse. Because if you hadn't gotten the "free time" that resulted from the forced break, who knows if the two-part project that is now in progress would ever have come about. The second was used to write a "script", which will now be released as a double concept album in 2023/24. It starts with part one of 150-Where the Old Gods Play. The six Swedes added a powerful shovel of folk and doom metal to the musical production, which made the album all the more magnificent and elaborate. So now the willing listener gets the first part of the story, which takes place in Scotland in the early 20th century and revolves around the manipulation of the church by a priest whose secret intentions are only revealed at the end. Packed into seven atmospheric songs, which invites you into a real adventure with the right music and captivates the listener as well as providing the most pleasant listening experience. You can already look forward to part two, which will then reveal the end. This album is definitely not only for fans of the doom scene. Fans of folk metal are also cordially invited to risk an ear here. We are convinced that many new and old fans will feel more than addressed here and award full marks for an album from an independent scene.
