Sie sind zurück. Nachdem die letzten drei Alben sich in den Charts und der Herzen der Fans mehr als manifestieren konnten, und gerade das letzte Album, Echeos, eher eine Hommage an die guten alten 80’er Jahre war, geht A Life Divided einen gewaltigen Schritt zurück in Richtung Wurzeln. Sänger und Gitarrist Jürgen Planger äußert sich hierzu ganz klar. „Das Album ist natürlich auch ein Spiegel der letzten Jahre. Das Leben fühlt sich eher nach Moll als nach Dur an. Was er damit sagen will ist, dass uns alle die Geschehnisse der letzten Jahre verändert haben. Man bekam in vieler Hinsicht eine völlig neue Sichtweise auf so viel, schon beinah normal scheinende Dinge. Situationen und Menschen änderten sich und so zeichnet sich plötzlich eine völlig neue Welt. So ist der Name des neuen Albums, Down the Spiral of a Soul, schon beinah eine Offenbarung. Stilistisch bewegt sich das neue Album wieder mehr in den dunklen, härteren Klängen der Anfangszeiten der Band. Dies wird bereits mit den ersten Klängen mit Songs wie, Last Man Standing und Best Time, mehr als klar. Dennoch verliert a Life Divided nie den Fokus ihres Seins aus den Augen und überzeugt ein weiteres Mal mit seiner Mischung aus harten Riffs und Synthie Klängen. Das ein a Life Divided Album nicht ohne Ballade auskommt, dürfte zumindest allen Fans der Band, die bereits 2004 gegründet wurde bekannt sein. Hierfür steht auf Down the Spiral of Soul die Rockballade, Thanks for Nothing. Disorder dagegen ist ein echter Brecher, der einem alles abverlangt. Mit Send me an Angel, covern A Life Divided abermals eine ganz große Nummer des Musikbuisiness. Und auch diese Coverversion, versteht es durchaus zu gefallen. Schlussendlich kann man zum neuen Werk nur gratulieren und sagen, das man hiermit ein weiteres verdammt starkes Stück geliefert hat, welches in keiner ALD oder auch Eisbrecher Sammlung fehlen sollte. Aber auch allen anderen Freunden guter Rockmusik sei Down the Spiral of Soul wärmstens empfohlen. Wir freuen uns darauf die Band hoffentlich bald wieder live erleben zu können, auch wenn die anstehende tour bisher leider keinen Besuch in der Hauptstadt vorsieht. Zehn von Zehn, mehr muss hier nicht gesagt werden.
They are back. After the last three albums could more than manifest themselves in the charts and in the hearts of the fans, and especially the last album, Echoos, was more of a homage to the good old 80's, A Life Divided takes a huge step back in that direction Root. What he wants to say is that the events of the last few years have changed us all. In many respects you got a completely new perspective on so many things that seemed almost normal. Situations and people changed and suddenly a completely new world emerged. So the name of the new album, Down the Spiral of a Soul, is almost a revelation. Stylistically, the new album moves more in the dark, harder sounds of the band's early days. This is already more than clear with the first sounds with songs like, Last Man Standing and Best Time. Nevertheless, a Life Divided never loses sight of the focus of its being and once again convinces with its mixture of hard riffs and synth sounds. At least all fans of the band, which was founded in 2004, should know that an a Life Divided album cannot do without a ballad. This is what the rock ballad, Thanks for Nothing, stands for on Down the Spiral of Soul. Disorder, on the other hand, is a real crusher that demands everything from you. With Send me an Angel, A Life Divided once again cover a very big number in the music business. And this cover version also knows how to please. In the end one can only congratulate on the new work and say that one has delivered another damn strong piece, which should not be missing in any ALD or Eisbrecher collection. But Down the Spiral of Soul is also warmly recommended to all other friends of good rock music. We are looking forward to hopefully seeing the band live again soon, even if the upcoming tour unfortunately does not include a visit to the capital so far. Ten out of ten, nothing more needs to be said here.
