Da ist es also das von Vielen erwartete Cover Album der Band Eisbrecher. Stellt sich die Frage, warum bringt der Eisbrecher kein neues Album mit eigenen Songs auf den Markt. Nun das hat einen einfachen Grund, und der nennt sich Covid19, besser bekannt unter Corona Virus, und da dieses nette kleine Virus nun einmal weltweit dafür sorgte, das die gesamte Veranstaltungsbranche beinah vollständig zum erliegen kam und es somit nicht möglich ist neues Material auch gebührend live zu promoten, man aber die ausgehungerten Fans dennoch nicht am ausgestreckten Arm verhungern lassen wollte, verwirklichten die Herren, Wesselsky und Pix, kurzerhand einen schon etwas länger gehegten Plan und coverten berühmte Songs, die so ist anzunehmen auch ihre eigene musikalische Entwicklung beeinflusst haben und somit Ihr eigenes Schicksal gelenkt haben. Eben Schicksalsmelodien, bei denen sicherlich auch dem einen oder anderen Hörer so einige Geschichten zu einfallen werden.
Für mich persönlich, sind Cover und Live Alben, genau wie Best of Compilationen immer so eine Sache. Bei Live Geschichten muss immer versucht werden auch das Feeling welches so ein Auftritt mit sich bringt einzufangen. Was nicht immer gelingt. Best of klingt oft nach ok, das war es dann und Cover, nun das bringt gleich mehrere Herausforderungen mit sich. Zum einen, gibt es da ja nun einmal das Original. Nun wird wohl kaum Jemand versuchen selbiges zu toppen, den jeder wird irgendwo seinen eigenen Style mit hinein bringen, was im Übrigen natürlich gut ist. Das Problem hierbei ist, das die Welt da draußen nun aber mal das Original mehr oder weniger kennt und liebt, und man will das alt bekannte ja nicht verschlechtern und muss gleichzeitig auch an den eigenen musikalischen Ruf denken. Alles nicht so einfach denke ich. Aber kommen wir doch zum Punkt und zu dem was die Herren Eisbrecher aus den 14 ausgewählten Songs gemacht haben …
Als die Spider Murphy Gang in den wilden 80ern, zur Zeit der NDW, Ihren Hit Skandal im Sperrbezirk veröffentlichten, verursachten sie tatsächlich den einen oder anderen Skandal, der zu Auftrittsverboten und zum verbot der Aufführung oder Sendung führte. In unserem Jahrzehnt natürlich völlig überzogen und somit kommt die Version von Eisbrecher sicherlich gut an. Zumal das Teil auch 2020 noch verdammt gut rockt.
Was wollte Trio uns, ebenfalls in den 80ern, mit diesem Song nur mitteilen? Die Frage stellt sich mir nach wie vor. Da ändert auch die neue Version auf diesem Album, welches um einiges härter als das Original ist nichts. Anna, lassmichrein, lassmichraus, wird mir immer ein Rätsel bleiben.
1986 komponierten die toten Hosen Ihren Song Disco in Moskau. Schon damals war der Song mehr als provokativ, was sich auch 2020 nicht geändert hat. Die Version auf Schicksalsmelodien, geht aber mächtig nach vorn ab und ist einer meiner persönlichen Highlights.
Falco zu kopieren ist schwer, wenn nicht gar unmöglich. Schon früher haben die Eisjungs, damals noch unter dem Banner von Megaherz, einen Falco Hit gecovert und trafen den Nagel auf den Kopf. Mit Out of the Dark gelingt Ihnen dies ein weiteres Mal. Sehr gute Version des Klassikers.
Stoßgebet, von Powerwolf war die erste Auskopplung aus diesem Album und konnte bereits lange im Vorfeld den einen oder anderen Erfolg erzielen und so passt der Song wie die berühmte Faust aufs Auge zu dieser musikalischen Zusammenstellung.
Sorry Alex, du weißt ich mag dich als Mensch und bin fasziniert von deinen gesanglichen Fähigkeiten, aber englisch sprechen und singen geht doch weit auseinander. Der Doro Hit geht mal voll an mir vorbei. Bleibt beim deutschen Gesang bitte. Das steht Euch gut (dazu später noch mehr) !
Auch der goldene Reiter von Joachim Witt hat seine lange eigene Geschichte und wurde schon des Öfteren kopiert. Die Version auf diesem Album, kann auf ganzer Ebene überzeugen. Sehr gut gemacht.
Also wenn irgendwer Megaherz Songs covern kann, dann ja wohl der Alex und der Pix. Handelt es sich dann noch um einen Song wie Freiflug, aus der aktiven Zeit der beiden noch bei genannter Band, kann nichts schief gehen. Die 2020 Version steht dem Original in nichts nach. Großartig.

1932 startete der Flieger das erste Mal Richtung Himmel und sollte die Sonne grüßen. 1980 huldigten Extrabreit diesem Lied und seinem Schöpfer, Hans Albers, und schufen mit Ihrem eigenen Cover einen Ihrer größten Hits. Die Version von Eisbrecher die hiermit Ihre Veröffentlichung findet, besitzt Ihren ganz eigenen Charm.
Menschenfresser vom großen Rio Reiser, fand man bereits auf Ewiges Eis von Eisbrecher. Ebenfalls eine sehr gelungene Coverversion, wie ich meine.
Auch in den frühen 80ern, kreierte die Band Rheingold den Song, das steht dir gut. Die Coverversion zu diesem Song, steht dem Eisbrecher im Übrigen auch sehr gut.
Bereits 2016 coverten Eisbrecher den ASP Hit Schwarzes Blut, und veröffentlichten selbigen auf der Promo CD Volle Kraft voraus. Nun bekommt der Song seinen gebührenden Platz auf diesem Album und bringt das schwarze Blut noch einmal so richtig zum Kochen.
Das Album schließt mit dem urtypischen Noel Pix Instrumental, Schicksal, der den Hörer zum träumen verführt und Ihn mit ein wenig Nostalgie und Nachdenklichkeit über das eigene Schicksal zurück lässt.
Fazit, mit sehr wenigen Ausnahmen, kann ich hier behaupten, dass dies ein Cover Album ist, welches sich sehr gut sehen und vor allem hören lassen kann. Es ist somit viel mehr als nur eine Überbrückung der für die ganze Welt schweren Pandemiezeiten und macht verdammt viel Lust auf das im März 2021 dann endlich erscheinende neue Material. Sicherlich wird man den einen oder anderen Song auch live hören können, worauf ich mich persönlich schon jetzt freue… Auf Kalt!

It's not that easy, I think. But let's get to the point and what Eisbrecher made of the 14 selected songs ...
When the Spider Murphy Gang published their hit scandal in the restricted area in the wild 80s, at the time of the NDW, they actually caused one or the other scandal that led to a performance ban and a ban on performance or broadcast. Copying Falco is difficult, if not impossible. The Eisjungs, back then under the banner of Megaherz, covered a Falco hit and hit the nail on the head. With Out of the Dark you can do this again. Very good version of the classic.
Shock prayer, by Powerwolf was the first release from this album and was able to achieve one or two successes long in advance and so the song fits like the famous fist on the eye to this musical combination.
Sorry Alex, you know I like you as a person and I am fascinated by your singing skills, but speaking and singing in English is far apart. The Doro hit completely bypasses me. Please stay with German singing. That looks good on you (more on that later)!
Joachim Witt's golden rider also has its own long history and has been copied many times. The version on this album can convince on all levels. Very well done.
