Rezension by Fenria

Gut gemacht meine Herren.

It took a long time, too long for some. Five years after the last release, named Human, the long-awaited successor of A Life Divided is finally appearing at the end of January and is called Echoes. A lot has happened over the years, so there have been changes in personnel and also musically the men have taken another step forward. You can have whatever you want with this band, but one thing is certain, A Life Divided are indestructible in their way and always good for surprises. So here comes an album again, which can convince from the first listen. Clear straight guitar riffs, the right rhythm and of course the unmistakable, always pleasant sounding voice of front man Jürgen Planger makes Echoes what it is. An album that goes from ear to ear and finds its way effortlessly. So the album starts with the soulful rocker Hallo Emptiness before it gets almost pop rocky with Dry your Eyes. Addicted could almost have been written by Rick Springfield and is a lot of fun. Confronted a beautiful A Life Divided ballad then simply convinces it. The synth rock number Enemy would have caused some dance floors to overflow in the good old 90's and will certainly ensure a lot of movement in the dance halls and concert halls in 2020 as well. So the album continues. Ballads like Far, Servant but also rockers called Anybody out There or Push leave nothing to be desired. Only with the new version of the hit The Ordinary did I initially have difficulties, but after two or three attempts you realize that this version also has its class and fits seamlessly into the new material. With Circles and the once again really forward Forevermore ends here one of the best albums in my eyes which this band has published in its long history. An album with class, many surprises and a strong recognition value. Well done gentlemen.
