Rezension by Fenria

In 1974, four men, Dave Meniketti, Leonard Haze, Phil Kennmore and Joey Alves, founded the band Yesterday and Today in San Francisco. After failing in the 70's, the move to the reputable A & M Records label and the renaming of the band to the abbreviation Y & T in 1981 also brought a boost to the band's career. So in the following years, one or the other golden disk could be pressed. Albums like Black Tiger, Mean Streak, In Rock We Trust or Contagious were just a few of the big hits. The song Summertime Girls was especially celebrated here and also served as the theme tune of a popular TV series. At the end of the eighties, at the beginning of the nineties, the band's occupation changed again and again to the present day. When Phil Kennmore succumbed to cancer following a long illness on January 7, 2011, followed by Leonard Haze and Joe Alves in 2016 and 2017, Dave Meniketti was the only one left behind. In the beginning of the year 2018, this band recorded the first acoustic CD of the band with some real classics and thus released another milestone of a band that wrote in classical Heavy Metal history and still writes history today with a new cast. For me, even if only six titles are rather short but significant work which indescribably expresses the strengths of the band, the writing of songs and the unique vocal power of Dave Meniketti. The purchase is not only worthwhile for fans but also for those who might just become new fans with this work
