Genre : Hard Rock/Heavy Metal/Power Metal
Rezension by Andy Dax vom Streetteam Berlin

Der erste Song „Blood of Knives“ gibt schonmal richtig Gas und geht über in die Headbanger Nummer „I got the right“.
Nun kommen wir zum dritten Album „By Blood Sworn“, hier hat man sich für die Tracks „By Blood Sworn“, „This is Vengeance“ und „We are the Night“ entschieden.

Ross the Boss is a term, a name, an institution for every metalhead. As a co-founder of the mighty kings of metal called MANOWAR, he co-wrote classics like "Fighting the World", "Hail and Kill" and "Battle Hymns". Of course you can also hear very clearly on this album that the good Mr. Friedmann was involved with Manowar. The 12 tracks on the disc are each divided into 3 songs from his last 4 albums. The first song "Blood of Knives" really accelerates and turns into the headbanger number "I got the right". Followed by "We will kill", a somewhat quieter number, but still a very melodic piece with sing-along potential. The songs from "New Metal Leader" are over now and it's moving into the "Hailstorm" era. Songs like "Kingdome Arise", "Hailstorm" and "Great Gods Glorious" give you the very strong Manowar vibe. But here, too, he proves that with stomping rhythms and fast riffs you can fully master your craft. If you haven't twirled your mane here yet, you've done something wrong. Now we come to the third album "By Blood Sworn", here they decided on the tracks "By Blood Sworn", "This is Vengeance" and "We are the Night". Again 3 numbers that would fit very well into the band around Joey de Maio, but still have their own spin. All 3 songs stay in your head for a long time and I personally think "This is Vengeance" is a real hit. The last quarter of the album is then of course from the disc "Born of Fire". Here you can already tell that the songs are from 2020 and that you have learned a lot more over the years in terms of music and production. The 3 songs "Maiden of Shadows", "Born of Fire" and "Denied by the Cross" are a worthy and strong conclusion for a successful "Best of" record. Conclusion: This record is not only interesting for Manowar fans, but also for everyone who likes good, strong, neck-breaking Heavy Metal. One can hope that Ross the Boss will do a "Best of" tour with this record. Strong recommendation, not only for fans of the genre, but also for everyone who wants to hear something other than mainstream metal. You shouldn't have any technically complex musical expectations with this disc. What you get here is "just" true, honest HEAVY METAL. I give the disc 8/10.
