Just im Jahre 2015 beschließt der Australische Sänger, Andy Hekkandi nach Stockholm umzusiedeln. Dort tut er sich mit dem aus Schweden stammenden Drumer Martin „Martini“ Anderson zusammen und gründet mit selbigen das erste Lineup der Band Transh Dogs. Nach dem man einige Jahre mit immer wieder wechselnden zusammen gespielt hatte entschied man sich schließlich für die beiden Schweden, Mattias „Martini“ Johansson an der Gitarre sowie Daniel Ekholm am Bass. Das endgültige Lineup vervollständigte schlussendlich der Brite, Howard „Spides“ Chapman, der die Rhythmusgitarre übernahm. Man hatte beschlossen eine Sound zu kreieren, der eine Mischung aus dem Glam Rock der 70‘ Jahre in Form von Bands wie The Sweet, Slade oder T-Rex, gemischt mit den Klängen des selbigen Jahrzehnts der Punk Szene, hier im Stil etwa wie Johnny Thunders and the Heartbreaker oder auch den New York Dolls. Abgerundet wird das schon jetzt ziemlich fette Soundgewand dann aber noch durch Einflüsse des 80’er Rock alla Hanoi Rocks, Faster Pussycat oder gar den L.A. Guns. Alles zusammen ergibt dann das, was über die Jahre 2014 bis 2016 auf insgesamt einer EP und zwei Singles zu hören war. Und das konnte sich durchaus hören lassen. 2018 dann erschien das Debut der Herren unter dem Namen, Year oft he Dog, welches auf Anhieb einschlagen sollte wie eine Bombe. So erzielte man nicht nur Erfolge im heimischen Schweden, sondern erntete weltweit viel Lob. Bevor es nun 2021 auf Tour durch Schweden, Deutschland, Finnland, Spanien und England ging, veröffentlichte man kurzerhand noch eine Compilation die die ersten Singles und EP zusammenführte, und so dem Fan nun auch komplett zugänglich gemacht wurde. Der Name der Compilation, The Early Years. Selbige Compilation wurde noch wie auch bereits das Debut 2018 selbst Produziert und unter eigenem Namen veröffentlicht. 2023 erscheint nun endlich das zweite Werk dieser Band und was wir dazu schon jetzt sagen können ist, dass hier ein echter Leckerbissen auf die Hörer zukommt. Elf nagelneue Songs, die mehr als nur Spaß verbreiten. Der Sound und Rhythmus versetzt sofort jeden gewillten Hörer um einige Dekaden in der musikalischen Zeitlinie zurück und erinnern von der ersten bis zur letzten Minute an die guten alten Zeiten der 70’er und 80‘ Rock Tage. Dabei klingen die Songs aber so frisch, dass sie ohne Probleme auch die 2020er spielend rocken. Wer also mal wieder gern eine kleine Zeitreise unternehmen möchte und gleichzeitig in unserem Jahrzehnt gut unterhalten werden möchte, dem sei Stockholmania wärmstens empfohlen. Rock on!!!
Just in 2015, the Australian singer Andy Hekkandi decided to move to Stockholm. There he teamed up with the Swedish drumer Martin "Martini" Anderson and founded the first lineup of the band Transh Dogs with them. After playing together with different bands for a few years, they finally decided on the two Swedes, Mattias "Martini" Johansson on guitar and Daniel Ekholm on bass. The final lineup was completed by Brit Howard "Spides" Chapman on rhythm guitar. It was decided to create a sound that was a mixture of the glam rock of the 70' years in the form of bands like The Sweet, Slade or T-Rex, mixed with the sounds of the same decade of the punk scene, here in a style like Johnny Thunfers and the Heartbreaker or the New York Dolls. The already pretty fat sound is rounded off by influences of 80's rock alla Hanoi Rock, Faster Pussycat or even the L.A. Guns. Everything together then results in what was heard over the years 2014 to 2016 on a total of one EP and two singles. And that could definitely be heard. In 2018, the men's debut was released under the name Year of the Dog, which was to hit like a bomb right away. Not only did they achieve success in their native Sweden, they also received a lot of praise from around the world. Before they went on tour through Sweden, Germany, Finland, Spain and England in 2021, they released a compilation that brought the first singles and EP together, making it completely accessible to fans. The name of the compilation, The Early Years. Like the debut in 2018, the same compilation was self-produced and released under its own name. In 2023 the second work of this band will finally be released and what we can already say about it is that the listeners will get a real treat here. Eleven brand new songs that spread more than just fun. The sound and rhythm immediately puts every willing listener back a few dicads in the musical timeline and reminds you of the good old days of the 70's and 80' rock days from the first to the last minute. The songs sound so fresh that they easily rock the 2020s without any problems. So if you would like to take a little trip back in time and at the same time want to be well entertained in our decade, Stockholmainia is warmly recommended. rock on!!!
