Beinah zwanzig Jahre agieren die Spanier mit Namen Dark Embrace nun bereits in der dunklen und harten Szene des Hardrock und Heavy Metal. In dieser Zweit schafften sie es auf drei Studio Alben, die schon des Öfteren in die unterschiedlichsten Schubladen des Genres gesteckt wurden. Mit dem nun erschienenen vierten Album und dessen Namen, treffen sie wohl selbst den zu ihnen und ihrem Sound passenden Namen. Dark Heavy Metal, so der Name, der auch wie wir finden den Stil der Band am besten beschreibt. Besonders der hexenhafte Gesang von Frontmann Oscar Rilo macht sowohl den Sound und diesen Namen so passend. Dark Embrace zelebrieren harten, schnellen Metal, mit treibenden Riffs die sowohl in den Speed/Trash Metal, als auch Doom und Heavy Metal eingeordnet werden können. Für Freunde des Experiments sind Dark Embrace daher ein willkommenes Geschenk. Einziger Mangel am neuen Album, ist hier wohl seine kurze Spielzeit von nicht einmal vierzig Minuten, die sich über neun Songs verteilen. Ansonsten können wir auch dieses über Massacre Records erschienene Werk nur empfehlen. Das Album erscheint als CD, Stream und Ltd. Vinyl. Rock on and let the Heads roll…
The Spaniards, known as Dark Embrace, have been active in the dark and hard scene of hard rock and heavy metal for almost twenty years. In this second they made it to three studio albums, which have often been put into the most diverse drawers of the genre. With the now released fourth album and its name, they probably find the right name for themselves and their sound. Dark Heavy Metal, that's the name that we think best describes the band's style. Especially the witchy singing of frontman Oscar Rilo makes both the sound and this name so fitting. Dark Embrace celebrate hard, fast metal with driving riffs that can be classified as speed/trash metal, as well as doom and heavy metal. Dark Embrace is therefore a welcome gift for friends of the experiment. The only flaw on the new album is probably its short playing time of almost forty minutes, which is spread over nine songs. Otherwise, we can only recommend this work, released via Massacre Records. The album will be released as CD, Stream and Ltd. Vinyl. Rock on and let the heads roll…
