Rezension by Fenria Streetteam Berlin

Breaking The Chains (1983) – US #136 Enthält „Breaking The Chains“ (#32 US Rock) und „Paris Is Burning (Live)“ Tooth And Nail (1984) – PLATIN – US #49 Enthält „Into The Fire“ ( #21 US Rock), „Just Got Lucky“ (#27 US Rock) und „Alone Again“ (#64 US Hot 100, #20 US Rock) Under Lock And Key (1985) – PLATIN – US #32 Enthält „ The Hunter“ (#25 US Rock), „In My Dreams“ (#77 US Hot 100, #24 US Rock) Back For The Attack (1987) – PLATIN – US #13 // UK #96 // SWISS #25 // SCHWEDEN #19 // FINNLAND #18 Enthält das Thema aus Nightmare On Elm Street 3, „Dream Warriors“ (#22 US Rock), „Burning Like A Flame“ (#72 US Hot 100, #20 US Rock, # 78 UK Singles Chart) und „Prisoner“ (#37 US Rock), sondern kommen in dieser Auflage komplett remastert.

One of the really big ones of the Hard Rock & Heavy Metal scene got a, let's say, a monument. Anyone who knows me already knows that I have my problems with Best of...etc. Even with what is just in the starting blocks, I could understand well if one or the other gets a stomach ache and I can already hear the outcry saying it's all just money making. It may be that someone here smelled a quick mark, as they used to say in the days of this currency, but let's be honest, if you get the opportunity to get such gold pieces as the first four albums of a Hard Rock legend like Dokken in a remastered box Edition, who or which real fan will say NO? Ok, the works are known and every true fan calls them his own. But many will still own these true rarities or even only on vinyl. We're talking about the debut works, Breaking the Chains, Tooth and Nail, Under Lock and Key and Back for the Attack, which have a damn high status in the scene. They are true milestones of hard rock, without which some things as we know them would never have existed. All albums are recorded with the classic line-up of Don Dokken (vocals), George Lynch (guitar), Jeff Pilson (bass) and "Wild" Mick Brown (drums). Not only do the albums contain the following milestones of heavy music... Breaking The Chains (1983) - US #136 Contains "Breaking The Chains" (#32 US Rock) and "Paris Is Burning (Live)" Tooth And Nail (1984) - PLATINUM - US #49 Contains "Into The Fire" ( #21 US Rock), "Just Got Lucky" (#27 US Rock) and "Alone Again" (#64 US Hot 100, #20 US Rock) Under Lock And Key (1985) - PLATINUM - US #32 Includes " The Hunter” (#25 US Rock), “In My Dreams” (#77 US Hot 100, #24 US Rock) Back For The Attack (1987) – PLATINUM – US #13 // UK #96 // SWISS #25 / / SWEDEN #19 // FINLAND #18 Includes theme from Nightmare On Elm Street 3, "Dream Warriors" (#22 US Rock), "Burning Like A Flame" (#72 US Hot 100, #20 US Rock, #78 UK Singles Chart) and "Prisoner" (#37 US Rock), but come completely remastered in this edition. This can then be purchased as a 4 CD box or even as a 5 LP vinyl edition weighing 180 grams. Anyone who hesitates now can no longer be helped. In any case, for me it's a welcome gift, full of ears, which really brings the good old days back to life.
