Rezension by Fenria Streetteam Berlin

The Austrian synphonic metal band, Edenbridge was founded in 1989. After their tenth album, Dynamind, was released in 2019, "thanks" to the global corona pandemic, they did not go on a big tour as planned, but went straight back to the studio. Charged with enough energy that they actually wanted to discharge on the planned tour, they started directly with songwriting and thus created the follow-up work called Shangri-La. With the same, the band takes a few steps back and focuses on its strengths again and presents a Synphonic Metal work of art that has washed up. Already the opener, At First Light, shows with its orchestral choral parts in which direction the journey will go. And that direction is clearly in the direction of a romantic symphony, carried by strong instrumental support with incredibly strong vocals. Exactly what fans and listeners expect from this band. The album is convincing across the board with its new tracks and will take the heart of every fan by storm. At this point, the small mamut work, The Bonding (Part II), which brings with it a really considerable length of play with a total of sixteen minutes and eight seconds, should be particularly emphasized. As in the first part, Edenbridge was also able to win for the second part, Erik Martensson, who gives the song the right touch with his unique vocals. Now, dear readers and listeners, it's time to embark on your journey and escape the turmoil of our time for a moment. And Shangri-La will definitely help you with that.
