Rezension by Fenria Streetteam Berlin

Hier bleibt keiner still stehen.

What began in Croatia in 2011 and has since been more than known and celebrated in its own country will be launched in 2022 with the creation of his latest work. We're talking about the Folk Metalers by the name of Manntra. Manntra have brought us one hit after the other since their long-running album, Monster Mind Consuming, which is now also available in English for the first time, and the EP that followed shortly thereafter, Nightcall. And this now far beyond the borders of your home country. After several lineup changes and the fact that no one less than Michael "The Last Unicorn" Rhein (In Extremo) has been helping the band since 2012 in the form of live performances at well-known festivals, the band has probably been in the big circus of the industry since 2021 arrived. They were only recently able to prove their skills as live support for Thundermother and once again convinced all along the line. Now, since August 5th, 2022, the next real firework display from the Croatians has finally started. Creaturea is the name of the good piece and will hit like a bomb not only here in our office. We are convinced of that. As already mentioned, the hard and clear riffs of the combo have finally arrived. The sound goes straight ahead and constantly drives the listener forward. Frontman, founder, keyboarder and singer, Marko Matijević Sekul, simply gives everything and is supported by his colleagues in the best way. The somewhat gloomy sound paired with its immediately catchy rhythms is wonderful. Nobody stands still here. This is where the blood boils. When Manntra ask you to “dance”, you simply have to follow. So folks dance, dance and damn dance! The fantastic interplay of folk and metal has to be mentioned at this point, which the band unites almost perfectly to form a whole. But what is that? Am I hearing that right? Do they suddenly not only sing in English but also in German? Yes friends, Manntra are always good for a surprise and so they also try their hand at the old language and give their best in songs like "Königsmord" and the damn soulful ballad "So ist das Leben". The album is therefore a real hit all around and belongs in every good collection of the genre... It will be interesting to see where the path of this band will lead...
