Rezension by Fenria Streetteam Berlin

Heißt von nun an Lights of Human. Lights of Human.

What began as Human in 2015 and culminated in the debut album of the same name in 2017 is now back in 2022. The name has changed, the rest has remained. Human (from Latin humanus 'human', also English human 'person', 'human'). From now on it's called Lights of Human. I thought about it and thought, why do father and son rename their project? Now that I have the new material in front of me, and I have to say one listen was enough for me to realize what a wonderful work was coming my way, but not to get enough of it, which is why the album went straight into a loop , I have a theory about the name change. Was the name Human perhaps still sufficient for the material of the first album, but for the second the name had to be given a little more meaning in order to do justice to what this album contains. So humanity simply became the light of humanity. Lights of Human. The album itself abducts the willing listener and in my opinion it will not only be fans of the father and his oh so many projects like Extrabreit, Green or Symphonic Floyd, into a musical world of sound made of heavy sounds, the typical 70' rock and the today's electronics. The way in which son, Jan Clitko and father, Andreas Bubi Hönig manage to unite these different sounds in an incomparable way and create a sound that takes away all the worries and hardships from the listener for the length of the album is particularly impressive to forget around and just let the music sink in. While the debut was something special, the second work is already a small masterpiece for me, which I will definitely have in my playlist very often. With twelve songs and a playing time of over forty-seven minutes, every listener gets their money's worth. Here again the great class of Bubi Hönig on his instrument is shown. But one must not forget Mr. Sohn, who presents an unbelievable job here in terms of production technology as well as musically and vocally. In terms of content, the album is based on the wishes and hopes of everyone. And if they don't quite meet our expectations. Who doesn't think now and then about leaving this world of ours to start somewhere new. The only thing missing for me is the opportunity to experience this work live. Who knows which way the light will shine.
