Eine der wohl beständigsten Formationen in der dunklen Szene Berlins, zumindest, was die Regelmäßigkeit an Veröffentlichungen betrifft, Eden weit im Grab, kurz EWIG, geben sich auch 2023 die Ehre und veröffentlichen mit Apocalypse Galore ihr bereits neuntes Album. Beständig ist die Band um Kopf und Gründer, Alexander Paul Black, bis in das Jahr 2021 auch in Hinsicht der Mitglieder, doch dies änderte sich nun mit dem Ausstieg von Schlagzeuger Luke Ace, der durch Paulus Chartreuse hinter den Schießbuden ersetzt wurde. Auch die bezaubernde Geigerin, Kalila Karussell, hat mittlerweile nach Fertigstellung des aktuellen Albums, Apocalypse Galore, die Band verlassen. Das diese Veränderungen der Band an sich aber nicht geschadet haben, davon kann man sich nun seit vergangenem Freitag selbst überzeugen. Seit dem ist nämlich Apocalypse Galore für jeden Fan und interessierten Hörer erhältlich. Kommen wir noch einmal auf die Beständigkeit von Ewig zurück. Seit einigen Jahren ist es nämlich so, das sich die Band daran machte jedes Jahr ein Album zu veröffentlichen, welche allesamt stets unter einem eigenen Thema standen. Hier macht auch das neue Werk keinen Unterschied und so beschäftigt sich Apocalypse Galore einzig mit dem immer wahrscheinlicher werdenden Untergang. Untergangsstimmung, wie wir sie gerade in der realen Welt erleben. Davon erzählt Apocalypse Galore zwar nur entfernt, aber die Stimmung trifft das neue Album allemal. Wieder eine schaurig schöne Geschichte, erzählt von Alexander Paul Black. Ewig kommen wie gewohnt düster und direkt daher. Wobei man sich mit dem neuen Werk wieder etwas mehr in Richtung Black Metal begibt. Schon der Opener, Hure Babylon, signalisiert dem Hörer wo es lang gehen wird. Hart, düster aber dennoch stets mit dem richtigen Rhythmus, marschieren die neuen Songs eingängig ins Gehör wo sie oft als Wurm hängen bleiben. Ich sage hier nur „Schere im Kopf“. So düster schön auch das neue Material auch ist, kommt es gottlob erneut nicht ohne den gewissen düsteren Humor und Witz der Band aus. Dies alles gehört einfach in ein Album von Eden weint im Grab. Düsternis, Rhythmus, aber stets auch der mahnend erhobene Finger verpackt in dreizehn neuen Songs, dies ist es was den Fan und Hörer erwartet. Das Ewig auch live Spaß machen, davon konnte man sich über die Jahre seit Ihrer Gründung im Jahr 2004, spätestens aber seit 2011 auf vielen erfolgreichen Auftritten überzeugen. So wird auch Apocalypse Galore auf die Bühnen Deutschlands kommen. Man darf sich also auch hier erneut auf beste Unterhaltung freuen, wenn Eden weint im Grab ihre persönliche Untergangsstimmung verbreiten werden. One of the most consistent formations in Berlin's dark scene, at least as far as the regularity of releases is concerned, Eden Weit im Grab, EWIG for short, will do the honors again in 2023 and release their ninth album with Apocalypse Galore. The band around head and founder, Alexander Paul Black, is stable until 2021, also in terms of members, but this has now changed with the departure of drummer Luke Ace, who was replaced by Paulus Chartreuse behind the shooting galleries. The enchanting violinist, Kalila Karussell, left the band after the completion of the current album, Apocalypse Galore. Since last Friday you can see for yourself that these changes haven't harmed the band. Since then Apocalypse Galore has been available for every fan and interested listener. Let's come back to the permanence of Eternal. For a few years now, the band has set about releasing an album every year, each of which has its own theme. The new work makes no difference here either and so Apocalypse Galore only deals with the increasingly probable downfall. Doom and gloom, as we are currently experiencing in the real world. Apocalypse Galore only talks about it remotely, but the mood of the new album definitely hits the mark. Another scary beautiful story, told by Alexander Paul Black. As usual, Ewig comes along dark and direct. Whereby the new work goes a bit more in the direction of Black Metal. Already the opener, Hure Babylon, tells the listener where to go. Hard, dark but always with the right rhythm, the new songs march catchy into the ear where they often get stuck as worms. I'm just saying "scissors in the head" here. As darkly beautiful as the new material is, thank God it doesn't do without the band's certain dark humor and wit. All of this simply belongs in an album by Eden weint im Grab. Darkness, rhythm, but always the warning raised finger packed in thirteen new songs, this is what fans and listeners can expect. Ewig also live fun, you could convince yourself over the years since their founding in 2004, but at least since 2011 at many successful performances. This is how Apocalypse Galore will come to the stages of Germany. So you can look forward to the best entertainment again when Eden weeps in the grave will spread their personal mood of doom.
